View Full Version : Intel Desktop Board DX58SO
I was looking into CM's mobo and I didn't realize it only had 4 dimm slots from the photo. Why is did Intel do this?

Why do most of the other 1366 mobos have 6 dimms
Are there any advantages other then more ram? or is it just marketing?

Basically, near as I can figure, Intel's engineers were smoking crack when they threw that mobo together.
They said to themselves "Hey, we really don't have room for 6 memory slots... Let's just give two of the channels one slot and one of the channels two slots..."

Its an old board in terms of how quick things are moving these days so nothing new here but it still does the job for me until something new comes along :)
