What are your thoughts? Not a good idea?
Will it do "ok"?

I really like this block a lot. xD

BTW, it'd be in it's own loop. (MCR320, D5, Res)

Might as well get the new silver one :)

I am a big fan of the block in general. I think it personally is the best looking block out there. Should be more than fine with a D5.

Go for it. The silver block will cost over $200 and have a 10 week leadtime.

smee,

I used a D5 with the original Storm waterblock which was uber restrictive. You may want to look for a comparison of pressure drop between these two blocks.

The D5 was OK with the Storm, but the DDC really had a lot more pumping pressure. I saw no temperature change between setting 1 or setting 5 on the pump, so maybe the flowrate was OK.

RRR, yes you should add the DI to your collection. You already have the G5, and the DI is one of the coolest blocks I have seen and what an awesome piece of work. Do it man, now.

The only way in hell I'd pay $200 for a block is if it was made out of SOLID FERKING SILVER.

The base is, bro.

I'll arrange a group purchase through GARY, when the Aqua-Computer Cuplex di2 (silver) is ready in January.

As much as I love the original DI, I'd have to get one of the new DIv2's with a silver base. Just so I could have something that fine and special.\

What's the difference between the original DI and the V2?

Mid-plate...DI2 will have less restriction.:fact:

Sweet. Well, I'm happy with the DI I have, but my OCD will probably make me buy it when Gary gets it in...unless I get in on the silver version. :hehe:

Done some more reading, the base is only sterling silver, thats 92.5% silver. If my memory is correct that will perform WORSE than high density copper thats used in 95% of WC'ing blocks. The Storm G5 is 99.25% silver off the top of my head(not 100% sure), which is pure enough to take advantage of silvers higher thermal properties. 92.5% just isn't pure enough, the alloy of metals mixed with it ruins any advantage that silver brings.

If thats true, its nothing more than expensive, worse/same performing, non-visible bling :( If your going to do something right, it shouldn't be half assed. Now I may be wrong about this, but I have a strong gut feeling that I'm not.

Sterling is still biocidal. There's more than meets the eye.

Yea, but you can get a $10 kill coil, or sterling silver coin to do the same biocidal job. if the use of only 92.5% pure sterling silver it true, then copper offers better thermal properties unfortunately :(

I would love to see this block done with 99.25 silver like the G5 was.

AGAIN, I MAY be wrong about it, it depends on what alloy is used. With Sterling silver, nothing is guaranteed as to what the other 7.5% is. I would prefer them use something like Britannia silver, which is 95.84% silver and 4.16% copper, or Mexican silver, which is 95% silver, 5% copper, guaranteed.

Without AquaComputer letting us know if they just use "sterling silver"(with unknown alloy) or a .925 silver/copper, theres no knowing if theres a benefit over copper with this base.

That being said, if they are using a AgCu .925 Sterling silver alloy(92.5%silver, 7.5% copper) then this WILL perform better than a plain copper base, BUT without knowing if its regular "market" Sterling Silver(no guarantees on alloy used), or AgCu Sterling Silver, the benefits become foggy.

I definitely think this block looks real nice.
I would be interested in the rev.2 to see
if it compares to the other top blocks.

As far as silver goes I think I will have to pass,
$250 for a block is a little too rich for me, especially
when I just spent almost $200 on fans!
