Bankai is sadly no longer with us. She went down in a blaze of glory. her death throes heard through out the house. the whine of a hdd taking on water and squealing in pain will haunt me for a long time.





Well seeing as progress has been slowly but surely coming together for the rebuild of my everyday gaming & crunching rig, i decided to join the lemmings and post a friggin build log.

What are you talking about, neither series is even over yet. "Shippuden was pointless and disappointing though -_-;" makes no sense because shippuden has yet to even get good. IDK if you read the manga, but it gets really good, 70% of the naruto shippuden anime has been fillers so far. I agree bleach is really good, but you can't say shippuden was disappointing because it is not even close to over yet.

Bleach was good from the first episode, period, and only has a filler episode every what, 15-20 eps? And even then, the back story they give is generally very good. The whole premise for Shippuden was fail.

all thats needed to start version 1 of Bankai is to get a 3x120 rad and tubing. sadly Gary has no MCR320s in stock. im BROKE and i just lost my job. why is it that EVERY time i try to do something it fails horribly. same thing happened with my turbo build on my old Mazda 3. ran out of cash and poof there went project. all i needed was bigger injectors and a charge pipe (throttle body to Intercooler pipe) and i could begin to install and tune my 3.

but anyway yea i need a rad and tubing to tear this bitch down and get it under water.

i read somewhere that i need to open and inspect all my blocks and clean all my parts before i put them together? im kinda leery of opening my HK block. and my new EK vid card block. i gotta take my zotac apart and see if it fits. according to gary i can get a full refund as long as i dont actually install the block onto the card. reason for that is cuz EK themselves still dont know if the block will fit my card.

That loop order looks fine but may I make a suggestion.
I think that it would be wise to put the full cover GPU block on the top because its going to be the hotter of the 2 cards. That and the GTX200 heatsink would benifeit more from the cool air at the bottom of the case. I hope that made sense to you.

Dont worry about sketchup. I cant use it either but I can use Solidworks like a mofo.

for exterior parts, you might want to finish it some more, or not.

steel or aluminum? for aluminum you should use a self etching primer then the color you want. for steel you can just paint over the bare metal as far as i know.

well i know the plastic parts need primer and sanding and all that. this is an aluminum case i gather cuz its pretty light. had it been steel i figure it would weigh a shit ton more. ill pick up some self etching primer and rattle can the fuck out of it

lapped the waterblock. got the rads mounted.

fuck painting it ima save the money and get it powder coated. i was all about to start spraying the primer and shit, and realised i still had lil fine ass bits of aluminum from when i filed the metal bits down all over the fucking case. i had taken it as far as i could without drilling the rivets out and sprayed it down with a high pressure hose and soapy water. dried it in the sun and still got shit everywhere. fuck paint.

the block isnt as shiny as i wanted it but at least its somewhat better than it was. could only find 1000 grit as my highest. ill try again at some point to find some higher grit paper. gonna get the block mounted and mobo put in tonight. also gonna try and get res in. fucking casemods >_< im too lazy for this shit i like getting it OCed and gaming my ass off. all this shiny stuff is for the ppl who have paitence. i have none lol

Seriously these days powder coat is definitely the way to go for the chassis as its way more durable than paint and a lot less hassle.

Just remember to bung up any threaded holes prior to getting it coated as they can be a bitch to get screws back in unless you re-tap them once its back from the coaters :)

most coating companies will offer the service anyway and use either cork or silicone bungs but that usually adds to the overall cost so its good to prep the case yourself.

Just get some masking tape and tear a strip off roughly 2" long and roll it up into like a cone shape and literally plug any threaded holes you don't want coated.

The coating shop will appreciate you taking the time out to do it yourself plus it might save you a bit of money :)

wtf the damn pump wont prime. i have everything but the pump unplugged. i have the PSU jumped (smal bit of wire connecting green and black on the 24pim mobo connector from PSU)


i filled the res and flicked the switch. i get NOTHING. i hear the wir of the pump but the water in the resevoir doesnt move. not even a bubble. yes my inlet and outlet are plumbed correctly. what could be the issue? i had it working fine the other night in a BS loop outside the case making sure none of my components were borked

Sometimes you get a bubble in the pump when filling. Try moving the case around and tilting it a little to try and work out some air before you kick over the pump.

:hmm:well got it all back in and started to boot. i got to just about the windows screen and it just auto shut down - im thiking maybe the HK isnt down far enough on the proc to initiate thermal shutdown. wtf else could it be? also the water in my res suddenly got sucked down about halfway and i was petty sure i filled that fucker. its not leaking

The air is working it's way out of the rads and shit. the level will drop until the system is completely full.

The inlet of the heatkiller is in the middle, the outlet is on the bottom.
If it's not making contact the chip will indeed shut the machine.
If it's not getting any water to the block, same thing because it's not cooling.

Block is either not getting water, or it's not making proper contact.

If there are any washers between the block and the spacers take them out.
Check if the TIM is compressed. Just dont touch the TIM when you lift the block and You'll be able to put it back down.

looked in bios and loaded default for everything but set the correct voltage and timings for ram - using only one stick. tried to load windows and it gave me the blah blah not shut down - i said fuck it try safe mode. fucker sits FOREVER and dont do squat - i saw the temp in bios as 37C for the proc and i think 31 for mobo. i dont have the fan son my 2x120 running currently becausemy PSU suck and yea finding connecotrs for everything is a BITCH. i might need a fan controller >_<

i have one fan plugged into my mobo, 2 on a molex daisy chain thing and another plugged into a spot on my mobo that has 4 pins but works fine with a 3 pin plugged into it (it says CPU fan wth lol)

the other 2 fans on the front of my 2x120 are unpowered so im kinda farked for now. i got cables EVERYWHERE. shit is not cool lol.

its a gay ass mcw 60 on the 2nd card. i cant route the barbs the other way (along length of card) cuz of the gt200 heatsink. in any case its a horrible horrible product. it really is the poor mans block LOL. only way i can route the tubing to it without horribly kinkin the shit out of tubing and using barbs (i didnt even know about comp fittings till after the blocks were bought >_<)

well got bored and wanted to fiddle with my oc a bit more. i had it at 4.5ghz but it would occasionally fuck up a WU in wcg and a crash in wow or a bsod outta no where. not stable :( decided to set it back to 4.2 and lower the voltage as low as i could fucking get it. got it at the lowest green setting right now (1.3 something)

fucking awesome on temps

its 39c idle and 45c maybe while crunching. still putzing to see if i can get it lower temps lol
